If you’ve been posting consistently and getting crickets, it might be due to your lack of storytelling. An audience doesn’t want to be sold to, they want to be told a story. It’s the difference between “Buy our new product” and “Meet the face behind the brand.” They want to feel something and find connection before spending their time and money.
Enter storytelling.
It is striking that balance between staying true to your goals and reminding your audience that there are humans behind the brand. This can be done in a few different ways:
- Share behind-the-scenes moments: Packing orders, setting up shop, interviewing the owner
- Highlight customer stories: Showcase a satisfied customer and highlight what they love about your business
- Be brutally honest: Share a vulnerable moment about a lesson learned the hard way
- Explain your “why”: Why do you sell what you sell? Why do you do what you do? How did you get here?
All of this lends itself to crafting a true story behind your brand that users can hold onto. It gives them something tangible and still works for a few reasons:
- It sticks: People remember a personal story
- It builds connection: People want to feel connected to the brands they interact with
- It leads to action: It may not be today or tomorrow, but down the line these stories and peeks behind the curtain will lead to visits, sales, calls, and more
Your brand already has a unique story. You just need to start telling it.
And if you’re not sure where to start, let’s chat.
